1 – Iguaçu Falls

Our beloved “backyard”… Located between Brazil and Argentina, the Iguaçu Falls have 275 falls of water that reach up to 82m high!

In addition, it also has an area corresponding to 250 thousand hectares of subtropical forest, where the Iguaçu National Park is located, considered a natural heritage of humanity.

Every year, Iguaçu National Park receives hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world! In 2019, the Falls reached their highest annual visitation number ever: that year alone there were more than 2 million visitors.

In fact, visitors to the Park remain open, even in times of pandemic. To this end, a thorough process of cleaning and sanitizing the entire tourist circuit is carried out daily, including the buses that circulate there.

This way, you and your family can come to Foz do Iguaçu and visit the Falls safely! Want to know how? Click here and check out the best tour packages Mandatory for anyone visiting Foz!

When planning your family trip, take a look at the apartments from Hotel Tarobá. We look forward to welcoming you and providing you with the best of Foz!

2 – Victoria Falls

Secondly, located on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, in Africa, we bring Victoria Falls.

About 1,5km wide and 128 meters high, they are as enchanting as the Iguaçu Falls! To get there, you cross a bridge where the impression is that it rains from bottom to top, this happens because the water falls with great force and forms droplets that rise.

Oh! And it still has peculiarities that make it very similar to ours. Check out.

When visiting Victoria Falls, you can enjoy two sides of one wonder! You can see it from both the Zambia and Zimbabwe sides, just as here you can enjoy the Brazilian and Argentine sides.

And, just as in the Iguaçu National Park we have very smart coatis that like to steal food from visitors who are more distracted by the beauty of the falls, there you can find little monkeys that do the same!

3 – Niagara Falls

In third place, located in North America, more precisely on the border between the United States and Canada, are Niagara Falls.

You've probably heard of them, after all, Woody Woodpecker introduced them to the rest of the world! But did you know that they are divided into THREE? Canadian Falls, American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls!

Just like Iguazu Falls and Victoria Falls, you can enjoy both the American and Canadian sides. Visiting Niagara Falls is free on both sides, and, on the Canadian side, you can even walk along sidewalks on the side of the waterfall!

4 – Angél Jump

The waterfall taller from all over the world is in Venezuela. The Angel Falls (originally called Salto Angél), have almost 1km of uninterrupted fall!

Almost 12 times higher than Iguaçu Falls!

It is located in the Canaima National Park, which has countless rivers, waterfalls, lagoons and savannas! The fauna there is endemic, which means that the species developed strictly in that location.

Due to the height of the fall, much of the water does not even reach the ground. The force of the winds causes the water to evaporate or turn into a very fine mist.

The coolest thing is that Salto Angél is not the only monumental waterfall in the region… In addition, there are other falls that vary from 300 to 700 meters in height!

5 – Yosemite Falls

Finally, we reserve what is perhaps the most peculiar on the list of the 5 largest in the world!

Located in Yosemite National Park, California, Yosemite Falls has 3 falls that, in total, are more than 700 meters high.

In addition to the Falls, the Park also has several other natural beauties within its more than 3.000 km² area. After marveling at the falls, you can still visit Half Dome (a rock formation approximately 1,5 meters high!) and immense centuries-old redwood trees in the Mariposa Grove forest!

As if that wasn't already good enough, there's still a detail about Yosemite Falls that catches the attention of tourists. Want to know which one?

In February, depending on the weather conditions, the brightness of the sun hitting the waterfalls gives the impression that the Falls are made of FIRE!! Check it out:

Unfortunately, this phenomenon that causes the waters to “turn” into lava only lasts a few days. For it to occur, it must have snowed and the temperatures must be high enough to melt the ice and form the waterfall.

However, anyone who has the opportunity to witness this phenomenon guarantees that it is one of the most incredible experiences in the Park!
