The implementation of a management model focused on sustainability and respect for the environment led Tarobá Hotel to promote investments to transform sunlight into electrical energy. With the installation of the energy generation system using photovoltaic panels, the hotel in Foz do Iguaçu reduces expenses and contributes to nature conservation.
With the monthly production of 1.850 kWh of clean and renewable energy, the hotel will no longer emit two tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere per year, a chemical substance associated with the greenhouse effect. The Tarobá Hotel's photovoltaic system has 60 panels, installed in an area of 100 m². The capture plates have a minimum durability of 25 years and the return on investment is expected to be 6,7 years.
The general manager of Tarobá Hotel, Mauro Sebastiany, informs that the option to generate solar energy reflects the establishment's social and environmental responsibility. For the manager, the concept of quality service adopted by the hotel is broader than the vision limited to the delivery of products and services to customers. It is necessary to guarantee comfort and convenience in accommodation and at the same time have an ethical and collective commitment.

The Tarobá Hotel is one of the first three-star hotels in Brazil to implement the photovoltaic solar energy production system. In the country, few establishments in this category invest in infrastructure to generate energy from the sun. Not even the Brazilian MTur Accommodation Classification System (Ministry of Tourism) requires three-star hotels to adopt this technology.
The Tarobá Hotel is the only accommodation facility in Foz do Iguaçu to use photovoltaic panels. “This pioneering spirit reflects the hotel’s commitment to sustainability. The investment in capturing clean and renewable energy accompanies a set of measures, such as waste management and team training with a focus on reduction and recycling”, says Mauro Sebastiany.
