It is now possible to change at the Itaipu Visitor Reception Center (CRV). The store is open daily, from 8am to 18:30pm, to exchange five types of currencies: real, dollar, euro, guarani and Argentine peso.
This is an added convenience for visitors, who often go on other trips, such as Paraguay and Argentina, after visiting Itaipu.
Due to school holidays, an increase in the flow of visitors to the Itaipu complex is expected. Due to this, there have already been some changes, such as the increase in the frequency of circular buses for the Panoramic visit, which previously left every 30 minutes, and now, depending on the frequency, it leaves every 30 or 15 minutes.
Last year, the Itaipu Tourist Complex received 521.839 visitors, 13% of whom were foreigners. In total, including tourist and institutional visits, on the Brazilian and Paraguayan banks, there were 860.998 visitors, of 137 nationalities. This year, due to the Olympics, more visitors are expected, especially foreigners.
At the Visitor Reception Center, the currency exchange office is in a space next to the ATMs (Itaú and Banco do Brasil). The CRV also has other facilities: lockers for rent, public telephone, digital services and sales of photography accessories and supplies, souvenir and craft shops, drinking fountains, bathrooms, parking and a bistro.
