The Iguaçu Falls on the Brazilian side are very well known, they receive thousands of tourists every year. Many come from far away just to see them.
But, clearly, the Argentine Falls could not be left out of this, especially after Katy Perry was there this last Tuesday (13/03), we talked a little about it in this post.
The difference on both sides is quite large, even though they are the same falls, while the Brazilian side It is calmer, focused on more “commercial” tourism, the Argentine side is more linked to ecotourism, where tourists have more contact with nature and walk more.
A notable difference between the Iguaçu Falls on the Argentine and Brazilian sides is that on the “los hermanos” side the falls are seen from above, whereas on our side, the view is more panoramic and we can see their falls too.
To see the falls up close, you have three trail options: the best known is the Garganta do Diabo trail. You leave the visitor center on the ecological train to get to the Gorge, there you go down an 1100 meter walkway, it is made of metal, but contains small openings, through which, depending on the water level, it can get your feet wet . During the journey you can see birds, monkeys, coatis, alligators, butterflies and many animals and insects that live there.
Another alternative is the Lower Circuit, in which you travel 1700 meters on foot, through the forest that surrounds the falls, in addition to seeing some separate waterfalls along the way, which are very beautiful.
The Superior Circuit, also at 1700 meters, has a panoramic view of the falls and if you want to rest for a while, you can sit on the benches that are scattered along the way.
Apart from the trails, there are other tours, such as Aventura Náutica, it is like Macuco Safari, the boat faces the force of the water and goes straight to the waterfalls, passing by San Martín Island (the biggest waterfall the boat can face ), Cave of the Three Musketeers, where you can see the Falls on both sides and the Devil's Throat.
The Ecological Tour is for those who want a more relaxed tour, it consists of a 2,5 km rowing descent down the river, through the islands. With it there is more contact with nature.
For those who like a good dose of adrenaline, the Grande Aventura passes beneath two waterfalls, bilingual guides present the natural beauty of Iguazú Park.
When doing the 4×4 Safari you get even closer to nature, in two hours in the 4×4 car, you see various animals and insects that live within the dense forest.
