Exhibition “Human Bodies – Wonders of the Human Body” arrives in Foz do Iguaçu

Last Friday (24), authorities, press and guests were present at Shopping Catuaí Palladium in Foz do Iguaçu, where the launch of the International Human Bodies – Wonders of the Human Body exhibition was held.

If you go to the exhibition, be prepared, as the place brings many surprises. It has nine complete real bodies for public observation, as well as organs, fetuses, and some animals.

But how are bodies preserved?

To do this, a process called plastination is carried out. Another characteristic of the exposure is that the environment in which the bodies are located does not have any type of odor.

Bodies are preserved for educational purposes through a process called plastination. In this method, the specimen is dissected and submerged in acetone to extract all body fluids.

It is then placed in a silicone polymer bath and goes into a vacuum chamber, which replaces the acetone with the polymer down to the deepest cellular level. This substance, when hardening, leaves the body in a state of permanent preservation.

Throughout the journey, there are monitors who can help visitors with any queries they may have.

This exhibition is unprecedented in Foz do Iguaçu, and has already been visited by more than 40 million people in different countries around the world. The bodies are distributed in different parts of the environment and in different positions.

The bodies are of Chinese people, who before dying donated their bodies to be used for educational and scientific purposes.

The public has the unique opportunity to get to know “Human Bodies – Wonders of the Human Body”, where it is possible to observe the details of the human body, allowing visitors to learn a little more about their own bodies and lifestyles, being able to change some attitudes that make a difference in the human body itself.

The exhibition has been touring Brazil since 2011, and now it is Foz do Iguaçu's turn to host this incredible exhibition. The cities that have already received the Wonders of the Human Body were: Recife, Curitiba, Goiânia, Belo Horizonte, Campo Grande, São Luis, Vitória, Taubaté, Maceió, Niterói and Porto Alegre.

The exhibition “Human Bodies – Wonders of the Human Body” is on display at the Catuaí Palladium, in Foz do Iguaçu. The exhibition has been on display since March 24th and continues until May 28th, being the low season.

The exhibition is super interesting both for the general public and for those who are studying at a university in the field of medicine. Did you like the exhibition and want to visit Foz do Iguaçu? Stay in one of the best hotels in Foz do Iguaçu.
