At the meeting of the Tourism Commission this Monday, the 19th, in the late afternoon, the deputies unanimously approved the Bill by deputy Cláudia Pereira (PSC) that names the municipality of Foz do Iguaçu as the Capital of Tourism in Paraná. For the president of the Commission, deputy Chico Brasileiro (PSD), despite the municipality of Fronteira already being known throughout the world for the Iguaçu Falls and one of the most sought after tourist destinations in the country, the title means the recognition of the Assembly and also of the State of the importance it has for Paraná and Brazil.
“Recognition in government actions, in strategic tourism actions, that is, the gain ends up being in this way, a municipality that is recognized as the capital of tourism, despite already being included in all tourist calendars, it inevitably passes to be the cutting edge of tourism, and this is actually already happening, I think it adds, this consolidates an already internationally recognized destination, and everything that adds up, to recognize tourism in Foz do Iguaçu, in the state of Paraná, especially this capital of tourism that is Foz do Iguaçu turns into something positive”, said the deputy.
Parliamentarians also defined, during the meeting, that they will promote, in the coming days, a public hearing that will debate strategies to increase Tourism in the state, with the presentation of amendments to next year's Budget and also to the Multi-Year Plan, for the next four years. Paraná is among the five Brazilian states that receive the most tourists, and the Commission's deputies, says Chico Brasileiro, want to work on an action plan with the aim of strengthening these destinations. One way would be to propose improvements to the railway network, offering more destination options to tourists.
