Parque das Aves in Foz and the beloved macaws!

Parque das Aves is the second most visited attraction in Foz do Iguaçu and now an Integrated Conservation Center for Atlantic Forest Species. Here, visitors can see more than 1500 birds, of 150 species, and get up close to several of them, such as macaws, toucans and guarás. At Parque das Aves, 54% of birds are rescued from trafficking or mistreatment, and your visit helps maintain the project, which does not have other resources or support.

Now, to better protect the macaws, on the main walkway, we can no longer take photos holding the macaws, since, even though they are used to having contact with humans, they still suffer from this approach, mainly because there are a very large number of them. of tourists visiting Parque das Aves lately.

So with this protection of birds in mind, Parque das Aves restricted the approach to birds for the Backstage Experience tour, where you have greater contact with all the birds in the park. With it you experience what it's like to work inside Parque das Aves, because the tour has a pass exclusively for feeding some birds, such as toucans and other species. This way we see more closely how important the work they do at Parque das Aves is.

In addition to feeding the birds, the tour usually includes:

• Baby Station: you meet puppies and understand how the Puppy Room works;

• Parrot conditioning: learn about training and its importance for the birds and technical team;

• Feeding toucans: together with the technical team, you will be able to feed a toucan.

Depending on certain times, the tour may include one or more of these stops:

• Hand-feed flamingo chicks;

• Monitor the feeding of a native woodpecker;

• Meet one of our endangered Atlantic Forest parrots, ambassadors of their species;

• Enter the rescued passerine nursery and feed the owls;

• Touch and sensory activity with a caligo caterpillar (also known as an owl butterfly);

And, at the end of the experience, you will be taken to an outdoor deck, amid a butterfly garden, having the opportunity to interact peacefully with a macaw, as well as refresh yourself with drinks and seasonal fruits.

Note: As animal welfare is the absolute priority of Parque das Aves, the content of the tour may change without prior notice!

The tour has limited places, at 7:30 am, 10:30 am, 14 pm and 16 pm.

The 7:30 am tour takes place when Parque das Aves is still closed to the public, providing Backstage Experience participants with complete peace of mind.

Note: The Backstage Experience tour no longer exists.

It lasts, on average, an hour and a half, check prices here.
