But today we will talk about the 3rd stage of the 6th Regional Cycling Circuit of the Cataratas do Iguaçu Region and Paths to Lake Itaipu. The event will take place on Sunday, May 20th and registrations are made via Adetur website Falls and Paths.
Adetur (Tourist Development Agency for the Cataratas do Iguaçu and Caminhos as Lago Itaipu Region) is promoting this event, organizing and holding it with Municipal Councils and Cyclist Groups in the Region and has the master sponsorship of Itaipu Binacional, Audax, Sicredi and support from the Development Council of Municipalities Bordering Lago de Itaipu.
For those who want to participate, payment by bank slip is due today (15/05) and the cost is R$65,00. And interested parties can register on the day of the event, costing R$90,00.
These prices include: breakfast, water distribution before and during the journey, support car during the journey, personal accident insurance (check coverage in the event regulations) and lunch on the day of the event.
The circuit will have two routes, the shorter with 30 kilometers and the longer with 45 kilometers. Both will be covered on dirt roads, uneven stone and asphalt. The difficulty level of the routes is considered moderate and the routes will be brand new!
One of the routes will be granted by Itaipu Binacional, which opened its doors to the route that passes through the Itaipu Biological Refuge, Península Pomba Cuê, Península Limeira, places that have never been cycled in events.
The start will take place at ICLI – Iate Clube Lago de Itaipu, in Foz do Iguaçu, starting at 8:30 am. Participants should start arriving at 6:30 am to have breakfast on site, but if you want to have breakfast at the Tarobá Hotel, you can! Our breakfast starts at 4am and ends at 10am. At 12pm lunch is scheduled and a draw for various gifts, including five bicycles, two of which will be raffled off exclusively among the first 500 registrants, among other prizes!
For participants who want to acquire the Cycle Tourism Passport, you have until this stage in Foz do Iguaçu to obtain it. “This will be the last opportunity to purchase the passport, which will be sold for R$35,00. It is necessary for the participant to prove, through stamped registration, participation in at least 12 stages, to compete for the draw for two bicycles that will be held in the last stage in Matelândia”, says the executive secretary of Adetur, Dayane Passos.
Luciano Castilha, the president of the Cataratas do Iguaçu Cycling Association, highlights that the organization is prepared to receive a large number of cyclists. “We count on the dedication of more than 200 volunteers to put on a beautiful event. We are also preparing a souvenir for all participants in our stage. We invite everyone to come on Saturday (19), to Foz do Iguaçu, to discover our attractions, as the Municipality has a vast network of hotels and restaurants”, he concludes.
