LAST MINUTE UPDATE

Argentina brought forward the reopening of the border. Check the requirements of the neighboring country below:

Day 27/09: entry of tourists without the need for isolation.

Notes: proof of complete vaccination must be presented, the second dose of which must have been taken at least 14 days before arrival in the country, and a negative PCR test carried out within 72 hours. Furthermore, the person must have stayed in Brazil for the last 14 days before arriving from Argentina.

Day 01/10: Entry into the country is permitted via Iguaçu Falls International Airport.

Note: the reopening of airports is a test restricted to the city of Puerto Iguazú only. From November 1st, this aerial opening is planned to be expanded.

In 2020, the Argentine border was closed with no date for reopening due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

People began to miss access to the neighboring country early on, mainly because of commercial tourism.

However, the wait is over and now the Brazilian population can visit Argentina again.

Reopening of the bridge || Argentine border

In the first days of the pandemic, the Argentine border was already closed, preventing passage across the Tancredo Neves Bridge.

Prevention measures were strictly followed by the neighboring country and only in August of that year the possibility of reopening emerged, with a pre-project on the same.

However, this Tuesday morning, the 21st, the Argentine government updated the information, bringing good news for Brazilians, Argentines and all tourists who wish to visit the country.

The reopening of the bridge has a specific schedule, because it will be a gradual opening. See the scheduled events below.

Agenda

For Argentines, residents and foreigners who go to Argentina for work and who have immigration authorization, the quarantine will end on September 24th.

On September 27th, a test of a tourist corridor will begin between Foz and Puerto Iguazú.

At first, the country will authorize the entry of only 800 people per day. They must present proof of vaccination, PCR tests and all reservations for their activities (hotels, restaurants and tourist tours).

Only on October 1st will visitors be able to enter the country without quarantine.

From October 1st to November 1st, the security corridor will take place at airports and land ports.

Finally, only on November 1st will all foreigners be able to cross the bridge, with no restrictions on quantity.

However, some requirements will still be required.

Requirements

Those who intend to enter Argentina after November 1st must present certain documents and receipts at customs.

But before seeing what they are, remember that the documentation already requested before the pandemic will still be necessary. To find out exactly what they are, see this matter.

Tourists must present the complete vaccination schedule, the last application of which must have been carried out at least 14 days before arrival in Argentina.

The PCR test must be negative and taken in the last 72 hours before entering the country, or the antigen must be taken at the point of entry. The test must also be taken between the 5th and 7th day of arrival.

If the individual does not meet any of the above requirements, including minors, they must be quarantined, in addition to carrying out antigen and PCR tests on the 7th day.
