What to do in the cold? Places to visit

Foz do Iguaçu is incredible in any season of the year, but in the cold the city is even better! So come here and we'll show you what to do in the cold, besides, of course, visiting the delicious Cataract.

Landmark of the Three Borders

O Landmark of the Three Borders It is one of the most charming places in Foz do Iguaçu.

It is a frequently visited place due to the historical value it contains in the region. The architecture of the place is inspired by the Jesuit missions and everything there culturally transports you to that time.

During the period of colonization in Brazil, Jesuit priests carried out evangelization work for the indigenous people who inhabited the regions of Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina.

At that time, the indigenous people built large buildings, which were later demolished by the Portuguese and bandeirantes. Most of these ruins can now be found in the Marco das Três Fronteiras, some also spread across Paraguay and Argentina.

Marco brings many visitors to Foz do Iguaçu and the border, for this reason, it was recently renovated and today has a restaurant, square, shop and even a children's area.

If you want to visit Marco, it's good to remember that due to Covid-19, the borders with Argentina are closed. Even so, the one in Foz do Iguaçu is also very rich and beautiful.

Marco is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 15pm to 21pm. Ticket prices start at R$33,00.

In need of transport to Marco das Três Fronteiras? Reserve yours!

Bird Park

Being the second most visited place in Foz do Iguaçu, this charming tour could not fail to appear on our list.

O Bird Park Today, it is the only institution in the world focused exclusively on conserving the predominant birds of the Atlantic Forest.

They protect endangered species and even care for birds rescued from the hands of wildlife trafficking. Some are even returned to nature, of course, when there is a possibility of doing so.

There are more than 130 species of birds that are cared for by the place.

Their work is amazing, don't you think? And the park also promotes a unique experience of immersion and connection with nature, as many of these birds roam free around the place.

In addition, the park has a butterfly garden and a reptile area, with species such as snakes and alligators.

It's a great tip on what to do in the cold, not to mention it makes for lots of cute photos with the toucans.

Parque das Aves opens from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9am to 16pm and is operating at 30% capacity, due to municipal decree. The tour requires prior booking and ticket prices are around R$60,00.

If you like birds and want more tours like this, we suggest visiting the newest falconry center in Foz do Iguaçu. Take a look at this article from Combo Iguassu about the Mautone Falconry Center

Dreams Park Show

This attraction is one of the best known in Foz do Iguaçu, always bringing new things to tourists and residents.

The Dreams Park Show complex is a theme park with different attractions.

Inside you will find the wax Museum, a somewhat different place; there are 7 scenarios with wax displays of more than 100 characters.

They are faithful representations of movie stars, animation characters, comic book heroes, etc.

Going a little deeper into the complex you will find Maravilhas do Mundo, another museum, this time with exhibitions of famous places around the world.

It is a historical tour through different replicas and scenes of monuments, tourist attractions and attractions from the five continents.

For those who are crazy about cars and like to feel the adrenaline of the tracks, Super Carros is the ideal tour.

It's a 12-kilometer circuit, whether driving or hitchhiking, inside the fastest machines in the automotive world.

Unfortunately, Super Carros is temporarily suspended due to the pandemic, but don't be discouraged, there is still another attraction for anyone who is a fan of an engine.

The Dreams Motor Show is perfect for anyone who loves motorcycles.

It is a museum of classic motorcycles and exclusive models, coupled with a themed bar and restaurant.

Another Dreams Park attraction that we recommend is the Valley of the Dinosaurs.

Dinosaur Valley is a theme park with realistic mechanical replicas of the planet's Jurassic inhabitants. Some are even life-size.

And for those who like adrenaline and don't want to lose the dinosaur vibe, we suggest Dino Adventure.

The tour begins on a ropes course of more than 60 meters, among the trees and replicas of the park. The tour ends on a zip line of almost 100 meters, which gives a beautiful view of the Dreams complex.

The complex closes at 18:30 pm, with the exception of the Motor Show attractions and the Ice Bar, which you can find out more about by clicking here!

Ticket prices are available in our tours tab, but prices start at R$30,00.

Itaipu Binational

Itaipu Binacional, known as the second largest generator of clean and renewable energy in the world, is also a great idea for what to do in the cold.

The Itaipu Tourist Complex has been promoting sustainable tourism since 2007, and since then it has been delighting tourists from all over.

If you are curious to know how energy generation works, you can visit the turbines and the dam, with the help of guides who explain everything.

The cost of this tour is on average R$40,00.

But if you enjoy nature and want to see animals up close, our suggestion is to visit the Biological Refuge.

There are around 1.780 hectares of preserved Atlantic Forest that are home to 170 animals from 50 different species. They are reptiles, mammals and birds, all born in Itaipu's own wild animal breeding facility.

The refuge also helps with the reproduction of endangered species, as was the most recent case of the Maracajá Cat, which was born this year.

The cost to visit the refuge is R$29,00.

And you can also learn more about the history of one of the largest plants in the world by visiting the Ecomuseum.

An ecomuseum is a type of institution that aims to study, conserve and enhance the lifestyle of a given region, and the Itaipu Ecomuseum does this work, preserving the culture and history of the plant's region.

The cost of the tour is R$18,00.

Shopping in Foz do Iguaçu

A great place to visit in Foz do Iguaçu in the cold is the shopping mall.

Currently, the city has two shopping malls, one in the city center, known as JL Shopping, and another on Avenida das Cataratas, towards Parque das Aves, the Catuaí Palladium.

Both provide a variety of stores in addition to food courts and cinemas. In Catuaí, for example, you will find the Cinemark, with the most diverse films on display for you to enjoy. You can check the schedule via the website.
