Parque das Aves breaks visitation record in January

Parque das Aves started the year 2017 on a positive note, as of January 31st around 92.704 visitors passed through the attraction, a record for the same period in any of the park's 22-year history.

The estimate for this year is that the number of visitors will be as significant as 2016, due to the number of holidays, which in total will be ten national holidays or optional points and with the increase in long holidays it allows tourists to extend their stay in the city, being able to visit the attraction more often.

Due to the good forecast for 2017, the Bird Park plans a considerable increase in its physical structure, according to Dr. Carmel Croukamp Denis, general director of Parque das Aves, “This year, we will carry out the biggest expansion in the history of Parque das Aves, with the addition of multiple new immersion aviaries, in addition to of other structures. We have been the second most visited tourist attraction in Foz do Iguaçu for some years now, and we are well positioned for exponential growth in terms of structure as an attraction and conservation activities.”

Some improvements are being planned for this year, including the construction of a new store and a restaurant overlooking the flamingo lake, and the construction of two new immersion aviaries, one with almost the same size as the Araras aviaries. This makes the tour much more charming.

With 22 years of existence, Parque das Aves has been attracting tourists from all over the world, however, it is Brazilians and Argentines who stand out in terms of number of visitors. Tourists are dazzled by contact with more than 1300 birds, 143 species, 29 of which are in danger of extinction. Parque das Aves is open every day from 09am to 00pm.
