Bird Park – Foz do Iguaçu

“Promote Connection with the Natural World and act to save species and their habitats!!!”

Did you know that in Foz do Iguacu Can you find the largest Bird Park in the Atlantic Forest in Latin America? Yessss… this is a unique and unforgettable tour to take in the Land of Falls.

Concerned with the conservation and reproduction of endangered species, Parque das Aves is an essential tour for anyone visiting Foz do Iguaçu, located close to the Cataract, in the Iguaçu National Park.

At Parque das Aves you will experience direct contact with more than 1320 birds, covering around 143 different species.

There are 16,5 hectares of lush Atlantic Forest maintained to form the best habitat for our animals.

The Park has species from all corners of Brazil and the world, divided into five nurseries integrated into the forest.

Macaws, toucans, canaries and thrushes hovering over people are common, as they are allowed into some environments – the highlight is the visit to the blue macaw nursery, which perch on tourists' shoulders.

Natural habitats, such as those in the Pantanal and the Amazon Rainforest, were recreated and are home to parrots, macaws, emus, toucans and herons, as well as alligators, snakes and turtles.

A butterfly garden houses 15 species of butterflies.

It is important to emphasize that the Largest Bird Nursery in Latin America, specializes in breeding vulnerable and endangered species, so much so that 43% of the birds they live in were born through this care.

Once recovered, the birds receive all the affection and healthy treatment, in addition to living with individuals of the same species, and often have a partner for reproduction. Furthermore, the Park is a partner with the Environmental Institute of Paraná (IAP), supporting species recovery projects, such as jacutingas.

To achieve the reproduction of some species, researchers use the most diverse resources. A cool example to mention is the reproduction of flamingos, where several mirrors, arranged at angles, give the impression that the population of this bird is much larger.

The reason is that flamingos only breed in large flocks, but, as the number of individuals is small, the mirrors aim to circumvent nature.

The Park is successful in breeding many species, including the ararajuba, a bird on the endangered list, as well as the purple-faced parrot, as well as the toucan, tachã, crowned crane, king vulture and the magnificent macaw. -blue.
