Foz do Iguaçu Airport will adopt facial recognition of people

Since this Wednesday (10), Foz do Iguaçu International Airport – Paraná, has had a new inspection system using facial recognition, which will help identify suspects and even those wanted by Interpol.

Without this tool, random identification depends solely on the experience of agents and police officers, making this task much more difficult and with a large margin for failure.

This system uses logarithms to identify the geometry of the face, through a combination of proportions and unique features of each person, it also analyzes facial expressions and helps identify possible passengers who present risks - potential for committing irregularities, in addition to detecting people that for some reason are disguised or have changed their appearance.

If a suspect is identified, the passenger is called to undergo an inspection.

This measure will make Foz do Iguaçu Airport much safer, and give passengers greater peace of mind.

In total, there will be 14 airports in Brazil that should receive the facial identification system.
