How Children's Day came about

Do you know how Children's Day came about? Enough more than I tell you.

Here in Brazil it has been celebrated since 1924, one of the first countries to have a special date for little ones.

This was even before Unicef (United Nations Children's Fund) established International Children's Day in 1959, celebrated on November 20th.

First of all, the date was established after a wave of reflections on childhood that were happening around the world, especially after the 1sta World War that left thousands of children abandoned and orphaned.

However, there were not many celebrations in Brazil, until large companies, such as Estrela and Johnson & Johnson from the USA, took the initiative to regain the Children's Day celebration, on October 12th.

In other words, the date arose with a very noble cause, but what made it popular was commerce.

And what's more, it coincided with being celebrated together with the national holiday of the patron saint of Nossa Senhora Aparecida.

Curiosities about the date around the world

  • Not Japan Are there two dates for Children's Day? One is just for boys and the other just for girls.

Enjoying Nature even more

You've probably already seen the Iguaçu Falls, which has an inexplicable beauty, with its Coatis that can be found in the middle of the way and all the nature around.

However, our tip for Children's Day is to visit the Falls on the Argentinian side, which is fantastic for this date.

Children will love starting the tour with the little train heading through the Atlantic Forest. Along the way, admire the beauty of the forest and possible animals that cross the path.

There are 3 circuits for the whole family to explore throughout the day and at the end, you will find the most beautiful view of the trip, the largest set of waterfalls in the Falls, the Devil's Throat.

I know, the name is scary, but I guarantee you won't regret it, it's so beautiful that we're left speechless.
