Are you coming to Foz?? Don't forget your documents!

Foz is a city that borders Paraguay and Argentina and whoever comes here always ends up stopping by the neighboring cities. Take note of the list of what you need to bring to come to the visit.

Brazilian Travelers:

The following ORIGINAL documents will only and exclusively be accepted for border transit in the Mercosur region:

  • Passport; or
  • Civil Identity Card (RG).

Any other types of documents issued in Brazil will not be accepted as valid documents for crossing border areas, even if they are accepted as identity documents in our country.

See the following examples of unaccepted documents:

  • Birth Certificate (does not replace Civil Identity Card or Passport documents, even for newborns or minors);
  • Professional Identification Cards (OAB, CRM, others);
  • * Driver's License – CNH (except for entry into Puerto Iguazú-Argentina);
  • CPF;

Note: The CNH can be used as an identification document for entry into Puerto Iguazú-AR only, by Brazilians and resident foreigners, for a maximum period of 72 hours (according to the Tourist Facilitation Agreement).

Other situations:

Children must also carry the necessary documents, as under no circumstances is the presentation of a Civil Identity Card or Passport excluded, even when the child is being held, even if the Birth Certificate is in hand.

In addition to the travel document, minors (Brazilians) unaccompanied by their parents must carry an original authorization with notarized signatures, with an “expiry date” and destination of the trip.

Minors accompanied by one of their parents must have a travel authorization signed by the other parent, also notarized, with a date for boarding, destination and return.

No case of trip for Mercosur, minors must present this document to the immigration control authority of their country of origin, for a migration control stamp, and it will only be accepted in the destination country after all these procedures.

Travelers of other nationalities:

Foreign tourists will be asked to present the following documents:

  • Passport or
  • Passport accompanied by a Consular Visa (when requested by the national authority in question).

Foreigners with regular residence in a Mercosur Party or Associated State may transit with the respective “permanence” documents issued by the country of residence, provided that, due to their nationality, the consular visa is waived by the receiving country.

Otherwise, you must necessarily present your country's passport and the corresponding visa.
