Black Panther (2018)

You don't have to be a Marvel fan to know this award-winning superhero film "Black Panther", a much talked about film in 2018, in addition to having won 3 Oscars in the categories of best original soundtrack, best costumes and best art direction. Not to mention the many awards won outside of the Oscars!

Anyway, what brings the incredible film from the Wakanda region to our list is not just because of its awards, but because of its setting!

During a fight scene, the beautiful Iguaçu Falls become a stage for the protagonists to appear! Even though it was not literally recorded there by the actors (because that would be extremely dangerous), the scenes are set in the Falls.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Out of the Shadows (2016)

Another fun and well-known film, like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 – Out of the Shadows, also makes our list for an incredible action scene that takes place nothing more and nothing less than in the currents of Iguaçu Falls!

If you haven't seen this film yet, we recommend watching it and paying attention to the scene that highlights our beloved waterfalls.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)

For those who know the most classic cinema sagas, you have certainly seen a film about the adventurer Indiana Jones!

In this specific case, the Iguaçu Falls are very prominent, gaining radical and adrenaline-filled moments for the protagonists who sail by boat, without control, through the Cataratas waterfalls in exciting and even very fun scenes for the final film in the saga.

007- Against the Rocket of Death (1979)

Another cult favorite on the list, one of the most memorable films in the 007 saga, was also set in the most exuberant waterfalls in Brazil.

Em 007 – Against Death Rocket, this moment occurs when the protagonist sails in a speedboat in an action scene along the river, and ends up finding himself trapped by the Devil's Throat, where he has an unusual attitude of dodging the problem, you probably remember this if you've seen the film.

Paddington 2 (2017)

For children or adults, the protagonist Paddington is a very fun teddy bear that for the second time took to the big screen and brought the look of the currents and the Iguaçu Falls.

In a funny scene, where Paddington is rescued from the current by one of the brown bears that are on a kind of bridge overlooking the center of the Falls.

A Fantastic Woman (2017)

Oscar winner in 2018, in the best foreign film category, “A Fantastic Woman” also features scenes from the most famous Waterfalls in Brazil.

In the plot, the couple who play the main roles, Marina (Daniela Vega) and Orlando (Francisco Reyes) have the dream of visiting the Iguaçu Falls together, so scenes of the attraction are shown, right at the top of the falls, giving a photograph even more beautiful to the film.

Furthermore, this film was one of the first to have a transgender actress starring as the protagonist on the big screen. This award-winning film won awards three times at the Berlin Film Festival in 3, in addition to representing Latin America at this edition of the Oscars (2017).

Research reveals that going to the cinema is the main cultural activity of Brazilians:

According to an article published on the Gazetadopovo.com.br website:

According to a survey carried out by the consultancy Jleiva Cultura e Esporte together with Datafolha, it showed that around, 64% of Brazilians, approximately 21,2 million people, said they had gone to the cinema over a period of 12 months.

The research was based on the interview of more than 10 thousand people over 12 years old, being carried out in the most populous capitals of the country such as the cities of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Salvador, São Luís , Fortaleza, Brasília, Belo Horizonte, Belém and Manaus.

Unfortunately, while cinema is one of the only cultural activities that any Brazilian has ever done, other similar attractions such as museums and theaters are still not visited as much, indicating a problem in the connection between people and these places.
