The Ministry of Tourism (MTur) released, in July, the new Brazilian Tourism Map. In this survey, in Paraná, the cities Curitiba and Foz do Iguaçu were classified in category “A”, a section that represents the municipalities with the greatest demands and tourist infrastructure.
In addition to stimulating and guiding new investments in the sector in the cities highlighted by the Map, the resources designated by MTur also consider the categorization of tourist destinations, to meet the real needs of each municipality.

The meeting of the Tourism Commission, where deputies unanimously approved the Bill by deputy Cláudia Pereira (PSC), naming Foz do Iguaçu as the Capital of Tourism in Paraná, was of utmost importance for Destination Iguassu.
Foz do Iguaçu is in a coastal region, and is already recognized throughout the world for the Iguaçu Falls, in addition to being one of the most sought after destinations in the country.
This title will add recognition from the State and also from the Assembly of the importance that Foz do Iguaçu has for Paraná and also for Brazil and the entire world.
The deputy also states that this title, in addition to representing recognition in government actions and strategic tourism actions, will consolidate Foz do Iguaçu as the cutting edge of internationally recognized tourism.
The Commission's deputies want to work on an action plan that strengthens the destination of Foz do Iguaçu.
One of the proposed ways would be to make improvements to the railway network, offering more destination options to tourists.
Today, Paraná is among the five Brazilian states that receive the most tourists.
