Iguaçu National Park celebrated 78 years of its creation

On Tuesday, January 10th, the National Park celebrated 78 years of its creation, the celebration was attended by visitors and employees of the attraction. The party included cake and musical attractions, the National Park is located in the city of Foz do Iguaçu – PR, the conservation unit is the second oldest in the country.

The attraction was created in 1939 through a decree, the delimitation of the area by the Union was influenced by Santos Dumont in the region, who was outraged by the fact that the area was private and in 1986 the unit became the first Brazilian conservation unit to receive the title of World Natural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

The Iguaçu National Park, with 185 hectares, is currently the largest remnant of Atlantic forest in the southern region and one of the few strongholds of jaguars in nature and also home to friendly coatis. In addition to helping to preserve local fauna and flora, the attraction is one of the most visited by foreigners traveling to Brazil. The park became known worldwide for housing the famous waterfalls of Iguaçu on the Brazilian side and its junction with the Cataratas Del Iguazu with its fabulous waterfalls, the main jumps are 19, five of them on the Brazilian side (Floriano, Deodoro and Benjamin Constant, Santa Maria and União) and the others on the Argentine side , with the layout of the jumps mostly on the Argentine side and facing Brazil, provides the best view for those observing the scenery from the Brazilian side.
